It is directed by Quentin Tarantino and would be distributed by Sony Pictures. The release date is July 26, 2019… be on the lookout!
9. Untitled Terminator Project
The 6th installment of the Terminator franchise is finally here. Well, not exactly like the 6th installment in terms of the storyline, because, according to James Cameron, Terminator 6 would be a sequel to Terminator 1 and 2, ignoring the installments that followed, “Pretending they were a bad dream”. After many calendar changes, the final agreed release date is November 1, 2019.
8. John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum
Reeves returns with his teammates for more exhilaratingly, bullet-riddled ride through the city of New York. In this installment, John Wick is on the run for two reasons: he broke a central rule by killing someone on the Continental Hotel ground, plus, there is a $14 million dollar contract on his life. The movie is directed by Chad Stahelski, who also directed the second installment of the franchise.
7. Shazam!
Shazam! is a new superhero movie slated to be in theaters by April 5, 2019. It’s the story of a 14-year old who discovered that magic happens when he shouts the word “Shazam” – he quickly transforms into a full grown man with magical abilities. Levi (Shazam), is still young at heart even when he transforms. The movie goes on to portray how he tests the various things he could do with the superpower, but he has to master those skills faster than he thought because the forces of evil orchestrated by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana are beginning to intensify their havoc. The movie is written by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke, and directed by David F. Sandberg.
6. US
US is a movie written and directed by Jordan Peele, who was also the writer and director of Get Out – a movie that became famous within a week of its release. US has a striking similarity to Get Out, in that it involves something going terribly wrong when people are just about to enjoy some timeout together. In US, a family goes to their beach house with the hope of having fun with friends, only for things to get weird at night as strange visitors appeared on their doorstep.
5. Spider-Man: Far From Home
Spider-man: far from home is going to come off as the sequel to both Avengers: Infinity Wars and Avengers: End game. According to Marvel Studios’ President, Kevin Feige, this installment would, more than the previous installments, portray Spiderman as a normal person. Though still maintaining his superhero powers, Spiderman would be going back to school, and would be living in a normal environment. As the movie title suggests, Spiderman would be far from home in this installment, he would be more on a global tour, trying to save lives. The villain here is no other than Mysterio, played by Gyllenhaal.
4. Child’s Play
A gift to lovers of toy horror movies! The movie is set to hit the big screens by July 21, 2019, the same day Toy Story 4 would be released, so that means a lot of toy activity is hitting the cinema this year. Child’s Play is written by Tyler Burton Smith and directed by Lars Klevberg.
3. It Chapter 2
The sequel to IT chapter 1 hits the cinema this year. IT is a movie adaptation of Stephen King’s book of the same title. The first installment was released in September of 2017. IT 2 is to be released on September 6, 2019.
2. Toy Story 4
The story continues with all our favorite characters from Toy Story 3, but some new faces also showed up – as seen in the trailer released on November 12. From the trailer, the movie seems to be a love story with a twist on identity. Not many details have been let out yet, but the movie would be released by June 20, 2019.
1. Avengers: Endgame
This arguably tops the list. It’s perhaps the most anticipated MCU movie in 2019. The reason isn’t far fetched, this installment is the culmination of all that has been going on in the Avengers world. End game is produced by Marvel Studios and would be distributed worldwide by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
