how dangerous can a visit to the beach get?


Beaches are a great place to relax and have fun. It lets us enjoy magical sunsets and a beautiful view of the sea. However, there are beaches which are extremely dangerous to human folk and should be avoided as much as we can. See the list below:

Beach

New Smyrna Beach, Florida

This beach has been listed by the University of Florida has one of the top 10 beaches in the state. However, it is notable for having a lot of death occurrences. There were about 17 deaths due to shark attacks in this beach in the year 2007. There have more than 200 shark attacks on this beach over the years. It has been named as the ‘shark Attack Capital of the World’ by Guinness World Records.

Heard Island, Antarctica

This was a giant volcano situated about 2500 miles southwest of Port. Although practically part of Australia, it is closer to Antarctica. The waters on this beach are extremely cold and it is definitely not a good vacation spot due to the risk of hypothermia and skin frosts.

 

Cape Tribulation, Australia

 

Located in the Northern part of Australia, it is highly infested with Marine stingers during summer. The Marine stingers are so much that there is a warning placed close by. The water and beach areas are totally unsafe for anyone.


Praia De Boa Viagem Beach, Brazil

This beach has also become famous for shark attacks since 1992 with a track record of about fifty (50) shark attacks till date.

Shenzhen Beach, China

Located just across the border at Hongkong, it is very popular among tourists. Therefore, there is a potential risk of overcrowding both on the beach and in water. Due to this, accidents are very common especially drowning among children below fourteen years of age since they are not strong to survive in the many crowds.

Other dangerous beaches are Playa Zipolite in Mexico, Staithes beach in Yorkshire and the Hanakapiai Beach in Hawaii. Remember, Safety first when choosing a beach to visit! You should watch the attached video to have a glimpse of how these beaches look like!
