5. Over-restriction of calorie intake
Based on the nature of the detox diet, you could end up finding that your calorie intake is less than the daily recommendations. An ideal calorie intake is usually determined by your height and activity levels, but the government recommends 2000 calories for women and 2500 calories for men. Having a juice-only plan or a plan that restricts the type of food and portion you take leads to a supply of only about 600 calories. To resolve this, just eliminate the surplus calories from the daily diet.
Related to low caloric intake is that you will end up eliminating important food groups from your diet. Whether you are having a cult cleanse or green juice diet, consuming less quantities of food groups like dairy, whole grains will leave you short of important vitamins and minerals including magnesium, sodium and Vitamin B.
