10 Scientifically Impossible Places

Scientists Can’t Explain Why These 10 Places Exist
The 7 wonders of the world are not the only marvelous places that exist in our world. At least, those wonders have some sort of scientific explanations behind their existence, but there are locations on earth today that science cannot comfortably explain why they exist.

Here are 10 of them. These locations have forms and behaviors that contradict all the laws of nature we know. See them for yourself:

10. Devil’s Kettle
The devil’s kettle has made Judge C. R. Magney State Park, Minnesota to become extremely popular among US state parks. The devil’s kettle is a name given to an abnormal waterfall that stemmed from the Brule River. The waterfall separates into two and one part of it goes to the lake then the other – the amazing one – goes into a pothole. Naturally, it is expected that the water in the pothole comes out somewhere, but all scientific method tried by hydrologists to find this mystery location has proven futile.

9. Hessdalen Lights
Hessdalen lights have become a household name in scientific mystery books. This unusual light has been appearing in the sky in the Hessdalen valley for over 4 decades. Many scientific theories have been postulated as to the cause of the unexpected light that never fails to appear in the sky at night, but no reasonable conclusion has been reached.

8. Movile Cave
This is a cave located in Mangalia, Romania. The cave was discovered in 1986, but it is said to have existed for over 5.5 million years. That’s not unusual. What’s unusual is that, the cave is cut off from natural light, has low oxygen level and high concentration of hydrogen sulphide, yet has been able to sustain life. Research shows that there are more than 33 different species of organisms in this cave, and some of these species cannot be found anywhere else. Clearly, these organisms have found ways to adapt to the toxic environment.

7. Lake Karachay
The soviet union had many factories where they manufactured nuclear weapons with radioactive materials. One of these factories had a lake close to it. The lake was constantly fed with radioactive materials, so much so that it became a dangerous place to visit. You could get killed by the radioactive materials when you stand close to the lake unprotected for several minutes. Scientists have covered the lake with concrete to make it more stable but that only reduced its toxicity – it didn’t wipe it off completely.

6. The double tree of Casorzo
This unusual sight is located in Piedmont, Italy. It consists of a cherry tree growing on a mulberry tree. It’s not unusual to see parasitic trees growing on host trees, but the parasitic trees are normally small and have short lifespans. The exact opposite is the case for the double tree of Casorzo. The Cherry (parasitic) tree has grown into a big tree and it has existed for years. This sight is one of the major tourist attractions in Piedmont.

5. The sleeping city of kalachi
Kalachi is a city in Kazakhstan. The city was invaded with an unusual epidemic in 2014 that claimed the lives of nearly half its population. People will be going about their normal activities and just begin to feel sleepy. The next thing is, they will fall down and die. Not all of them died though, some came down with serious mental diseases while others fled the city. A scientific theory proposed that the occurrence was due to the presence of radioactive materials in the region, but this was found to be false when the blood of the victims were tested.

4. Circles of Namibia
These are circles of varying shapes located in the arid grasslands of Namibia. These circles are barren of grass while the areas outside each circle have grass all year round. The sizes of the circles range from 7 to 49 ft. Scientists have tried to explain this occurrence but each successive theory was quickly debunked with scientific facts.

3. The hum of Taos
For over three decades, residents of Taos, New Mexico have been complaining about a hum coming from somewhere in the environment. The problem is, no one knows where. 2. The Never-ending lightning storm
People in western Venezuela, around the Lake Maracaibo region experience lightning and thunderstorms almost on daily basis. These thunderstorms contradict the theory that lightning never strikes a place twice. On a normal day, the Lake Maracaibo receives lightning for about 250 times an hour for 9-10 hours – starting from 7 PM. As with every mystery, there have been scientific postulations, but none of them completely solves the mystery.

1. The boiling river
Located in the Peruvian Amazon is a river that kills anything that gets into it. Any animal that mistakenly found its way into this river is literally cooked. The river is 4 miles long and its temperature can rise as high as 91°c. Normally, rivers get hot because volcanoes flow into them, but there is no volcano near this river. Hence, the cause of its hotness has remained a mystery to scientists.
